Audiences are then taken through key milestones of lunar exploration, from early observations and robotic probes to historic human landings and modern missions that continue to unlock the Moon’s secrets.Through breathtaking dome visuals, realistic lunar landscapes, and dynamic spaceflight sequences, The Moon Mission explains complex concepts such as lunar geology, gravity, phases of the Moon, and the challenges of surviving and working on an airless world. The narrative also looks ahead to future missions, highlighting the Moon’s role as a stepping stone for deeper space exploration.Developed by Vedarth Animation Studio, The Moon Mission is designed to educate, inspire, and ignite curiosity among audiences of all ages offering a powerful immersive experience that brings the story of lunar exploration vividly to life.
Vedarth Animation takes Mumbai to the Moon with "The Moon Mission" Fulldome Experience
On the occasion of Nehru Planetarium Mumbai’s 49th anniversary, Vedarth Animation Studio released its 11th full-dome film, The Moon Mission – India’s Journey to the Moon, on 1st March 2026.
The script for this full dome film has been authored by Dr. Sudhir Kumar N, Former Director, CBPO, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Headquarters, Bengaluru.
This full-dome film of 28 minutes has also been produced in stereoscopic 3D format for presentation in 3D planetariums.
The show received an enthusiastic response from audiences, celebrating the power of immersive visuals to inspire curiosity about space exploration. Designed for viewers of all ages, The Moon Mission blends scientific accuracy with cinematic dome storytelling to create a memorable educational experience.
The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Shri Pandhari Yadav, Principal Secretary, Science & Technology, Government of Uttar Pradesh, and Shri Ramesh Chandra, Special Secretary, Science & Technology, Government of Uttar Pradesh.

We are delighted to announce that the Rourkela Planetarium and Regional Science Centre, a project of the Government of Odisha, was inaugurated today, 21 April 2026, by the Honourable President of India, Droupadi Murmu.
The facility features a Digistar 4K 2D Digital Planetarium System and a 12-meter Spitz NanoSeam dome, installed by Infovision. This marks the eighth Digistar planetarium in Odisha.
The inaugural show, The Moon Mission, has been produced by our sister company, Vedarth Animation, Pune.
