Infovision India in collaboration with E&S Cosm and Nehru Planetarium Mumbai organised the three days India Planetarium Conference 2022 – “Quo Vadis: Planetaria “, the Indian Planetarium Conference began in Mumbai on 10 July 2022 with an aim to bring more dialogue among the planetarium community and provide multifaceted support. Inaugurated by Dr Annapurni Subramaniam, the Director of Indian Institute of Astrophysics, the conference emerged to become an important step towards bridging the gap between the astronomical research in India and its dissemination through Indian planetariums. Key issues that are being deliberated at the conference are data interpretation, show building through Digistar 7, coordinated public events, and how planetarium can play a vital role realising the goals of the National Education Policy. The latter was also emphasised by Prof K Vijay Raghavan, the former Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India. The conference is hosted at Nehru Planetarium, Mumbai thanks to the generous support of its director Mr Arvind Paranjpye and is organised by Infovision Technologies in collaboration with Evans & Sutherland.
